Requires a Chromium-based browser such as Chrome or Edge
Supports raw disk images (.img), compressed raw images (.img.gz and .img.xz, including iStoreOS and OpenWrt), and RKFW firmware (typically Android .img files).
Supports large firmware files using streaming and a virtual file system, without loading the entire image into memory.
On Windows, consider using Rockchip’s official flashing application. This web tool may require WinUSB drivers that can conflict with Rockchip drivers. Assess compatibility before proceeding.
Typical flashing steps:
Put the device in MASKROM or Loader mode. This usually requires holding a button during startup; consult the instructions for your device.
Connect the device to your computer via its designated USB port, usually USB-C or USB-A.
Select firmware
If the log does not report RKFW firmware and the device is in MASKROM mode, select a Loader file.
Click Flash firmware. You may be asked to authorize the device, up to twice in MASKROM mode. If no device is listed, check the USB connection and device mode.
When flashing finishes, use the Power menu to restart or shut down the device, or operate it manually.
Click Select Rockchip device to check its status. An empty list means no device is connected or the device is not in the correct mode.
To write to a different storage device, such as eMMC on a device with both SPIROM and eMMC, load the Loader, switch storage, then flash the firmware.
